My Teacher Rocks!

My Teacher Rocks! Award

The 2015 My Teacher Rocks! Awards will be announced May 18.
Voting will conclude May 12 at 11:59 PM CDT.

Dan Rather, a proud Texan and internationally renowned broadcast journalist, once said “The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau….”

Every one of us can look back and recall a favorite teacher (or teachers) who made a positive impact on our lives and to whom we owe a great debt of gratitude. Years from now, your children will also be able to do the same.

In appreciation of great teachers everywhere, my team and I are initiating an annual “My Teacher Rocks!” award and, with your help, will pay tribute to three of our community’s best. Please show your appreciation for the caring teachers in the lives of your own child/children and take a few minutes to nominate a special educator in any – or all – of the following categories:

  • Elementary School (Grades K-5)
  • Middle School (Grades 6-8)
  • High School (Grades 9-12)

Nominations, comments and votes will be accepted at this website  through May 12th, and awards will be announced on May 18th. A presentation ceremony for each recipient will be scheduled prior to the close of the 2014-2015 school year. If you have any questions about the Schatz Orthodontics My Teacher Rocks! award program, please call us at 210/494-4606.

And thank you for joining us in showing appreciation to some of the best teachers in South Texas!

Selection process

A selection committee will choose the winner from individuals who are nominated. Selection will be based upon the nomination, votes, comments and committee input.

Three award winners will be selected for the 2014-2015 school year.

The My Teacher Rocks! Award winners will represent the profession as an advocate for education and spokesperson for teachers in our community. The winners will receive prizes for both personal and classroom use.

Parents, students, peers and school personnel may nominate a teacher. Nominators need not be currently associated with Schatz Orthodontics as a patient or parent.

Nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently teach kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Must be employed by an accredited Public or Private school  in Bexar or surrounding counties during the 2014-2015 school year
  • Must ROCK!
